Branding Design

INFO

I took on a branding design self-initiated project my senior year at University of Michigan-Flint because I wanted to learn more about the branding process and experiment with different typography and package design layouts. With the assistance of The Package Design Book and Designing Brand Identity I went on a journey to redesign the Aquaphor logo and designed a fictional package and logo for a sustainable brand.

Aquaphor

Bringing an updated look to their brand

Aquaphor is a skincare brand that has been around a long time- since 1925 to be exact. I wanted to create a new logo for this company that was a nod to its past in keeping their original colors of navy and red, but brings it into the current era of clean, simple packaging. The typeface I chose is reminiscent of water flowing with its curved serif and flowing flourished letter-forms.

Jensai Matcha Green Tea

For the second part of this series, I designed labels and packaging for a fictional brand: Jinsei is the Japanese word for 'life'. I chose eco-friendly recycled kraft paper for the package. Matcha green tea has been used in tea ceremonies for centuries in Japan. It has such a complex, earthy, slightly sweet unique flavor and is ground into a fine powder with a bright green hue, which I wanted to display prominently on the package. I wanted my brand to reflect the Japanese way of life: Simple, elegant, and health-conscious.
